CII HP MSME Conclave 2017
Fueling Growth of MSME’s Through Financing Options & Enhancing Competitiveness
Venue: Baddi, Himachal Pradesh
Date: July 19, 2017
The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector has been recognized as a growth engine of the Indian Economy. The sector contributes for about 8 per cent of India's GDP, 45 per cent of the manufacturing output and 40 per cent of the exports. The fact that enterprises which are generally low capitalized and which use localized resources can impact the employment scenario in such a significant manner, is truly outstanding. The strongest differentiator for SMEs is the competitive business model, which emphasizes the use of cost-effective and local resources, capital, processes and labor, ensuring an effective ROI. However, to fuel this competitive edge and ensure that MSMEs fully optimize their resources and opportunities, MSMEs need timely and unrestricted access to financial services, which has historically been severely constrained.
Another factor which is one of the biggest constraint for the growth of the MSME’s is the low level of Technology. MSME’s are facing challenges of technological obsolescence, supply chain inefficiencies, increasing domestic and global competition, and turbulent and uncertain market scenario. To survive such challenges and compete with large and global enterprises, Indian MSME’s need to adopt innovative approaches in their working.
The key focus of the CII HP MSME Conclave 2017, being organized in association with Export-Import Bank of India, is to highlight the key challenges of the SME’s in raising funds to fuel their growth and enhance their competitiveness. It will also throw light on how important it is to focus on better financing and accounting practices for infusing new funds for growth either through banking or through private equity, etc. It would also briefly highlight on strategic initiatives, policies and frameworks initiated by the government and financial institutions to help SME’s maximize funding options and build a strong growth trajectory.
The theme of the Conclave is ‘Fueling Growth of MSME’s Through Financing Options & Enhancing Competitiveness’. The event will be held on Wednesday, 19 July 2017 at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh.
